Senior engineering student Pauline Roteta has been selected for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Brazil.
Pauline Roteta graduated this May with a major in civil engineering and a minor in Chinese. In August she will begin work at an asset management firm in New York. The following year she will spend teaching English in Brazil. She also will spend time studying the correlation between national English education programs and the effectiveness of microfinance programs.

Jim Clarke, professor of the practice of civil and environmental
engineering, has been approved for membership in American Academy of
Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) and for Certification by
Eminence as a Board Certified Environmental Scientist (BCES) in the
April 2012 inaugural class.

Gokhale to Receive Second Distinguished Professor Award
Sanjiv Gokhale, professor of civil engineering and director of graduate studies in construction management, has been selected again as a recipient of the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Distinguished Professor Award for 2012. Gokhale also received this award in 2009.
