From the Dean

As the new dean of the School of Engineering, I chose to come to Vanderbilt to work with world-class faculty, for its spirit of collaboration and its vibrant community, and the nearly limitless opportunities to better the world around us. Engineering faculty and students share their expertise across multiple disciplines to address specific research initiatives that characterize the School's commitment to help solve real-world challenges with worldwide impact. We are directly addressing these initiatives with Vanderbilt colleagues and those from around the world, focusing on supplying reliable energy, managing natural resources, providing effective security, improving health care and creating new and better forms of entertainment.

From traditional engineering disciplines to interdisciplinary programs, service learning, overseas study and hands-on research, it is an exciting time to be a part of the School of Engineering.
