Civil and Environmental Engineering

Combined B.S.-M.E. 5-Year Degree

Combined Degree Fast-Tracks Professional Career

According to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Policy Statement 465, “ The ASCE supports the concept of the Master's degree or Equivalent as a prerequisite for licensure and the practice of civil engineering at a professional level .”

Future regulations for licensure in the civil engineering profession could very well require academic work beyond the standard 4-year college degree. Vanderbilt's 5-year combined undergraduate and graduate degree program allows students to fast track their professional career, gaining both a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M. Eng. in Construction Management. Many of our graduates find this combined program as the quickest route to a professional career in construction and project management.

For more information on the 5-year combined degree program, contact Professor Sanjiv Gokhale, Program Director.
