The advanced graduate courses are organized in the six primary areas as follows:

  • Distributed and Networked Systems
    • CS 5282, 5287, 6381, 6384, special topics courses related Distributed and Networked Systems (if approved by the DGS)
  • Cyber-Physical Systems
    • CS 6315, 6375, 6376, 6377, 6386, 6388, EECE 6321, 6343, 6356, special topics courses related to Cyber-Physical Systems (if approved by the DGS)
  • Image Processing and Graphics
    • EECE 5353, CS 5258, 6351, 6358, 6359, special topics courses related to Imaging and Graphics (if approved by the DGS)
  • Intelligent Systems
    • CS 6360, 6350, 6358, 6362, 6364, 6366, special topics courses related to Intelligent Systems (if approved by the DGS)
  • Software and Systems Engineering
    • CS 6385, 6315, 6352, 6387, 6388, special topics courses related to Software and Systems Engineering (if approved by the DGS)
  • Theory
    • CS 6310, 6311, 6315, 6320
Other advanced graduate courses in the EECS department or other departments including CS 8390 (Independent Study) can be used to fulfill the requirement of three advanced graduate courses in the student's primary research area if they are beneficial to the student’s program of graduate studies subject to approval by the advisor and DGS.
