Ninjaneers, Rube Goldberg competition highlight 2013 E-Week activities

Engineering students at Vanderbilt University will showcase their ingenuity through a series of challenging – but fun – competitions and events held during National Engineers Week February 18-22.

In addition to spotlighting the engineering profession, the competitions and activities are designed to interest students in engineering and scientific fields.

E-Week activities include:

To kick off Vanderbilt’s E-Week activities on Monday, a daylong event invites engineering students to search for prizes hidden on campus. These ‘Ninjaneers’ must solve clues in the form of math and engineering problems to find the prizes.

The week concludes with an Order of the Engineer ceremony Friday at 5 p.m. in Jacobs Believed in Me Auditorium. Before joining, students will take an oath to abide by a code of ethics. Afterward, students receive a stainless steel ring as a reminder of the oath.
