Force probe particle synthesis and optimization
Brief Description of Project:
Our lab utilizes a number of types of force probe particles including core shell optical materials and magnetic probes. This project will focus on development optimizing and testing of the synthesis and preparation of such particles along with methods to functionalize them for single molecule and single cell studies. It provides good training on both wet bio and chemical synthesis, training on advanced microscopes and training in analysis.
Solid chemistry, physics and engineering foundation.
Nature of Supervision:
Work with prof. Lang and members of the Lang Lab.
A Brief Research Plan (period is for 10 weeks):
will begin with general training and learning the ropes of the lab followed by multiple rounds of synthesis, optimization and characterization of the particles and functionalization.
