Holographic Data Visualization for Environmental Monitoring

Brief Description of Project:
The major focus is on perfecting a field technology that will provide a novel, easy-to-use observational tool that can help bridge the scale-gap between satellite and ground-based observations. This work will interface a Microsoft HoloLens with a high definition multispectral camera in order to visualize, render, and project two dimensional multispectral images onto a three dimensional world for unique visualizations of hyperspectral imagery, analysis, and live-feedback. The purpose is to develop this concept into a viable product and industry tool, upon which further advancements in environmental sciences, and the study of vegetation stress can be built.

Desired Qualifications: 
Proficiency in C++ programming
Knowledge of Unity Game Development
Proficiency in wireless networking
Junior or Senior standing in engineering 

Nature of Supervision:
Daily interaction with graduate student, weekly meetings with adviser.
A Brief Research Plan (period is for 10 weeks):
Weeks 1-4: System design and development
Weeks 5-6: Mounting and systems integration development
Weeks 7-8: Testing and calibration
Weeks 9-10: Application testing
