Xue's wireless networks research earns NSF CAREER award

An electrical engineer who is attempting to make wireless communications more reliable has received the National Science Foundation's CAREER award. Assistant professor Yuan Xue's research focuses on a better way to manage wireless networks by allowing smartphones to prioritize the communication requests they receive from installed applications.

Graduate student earns top paper award at AIAA conference

Chetan S. Kulkarni received the "Best Student Paper Award" at an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics conference. The paper presents a prognostic methodology for electrolytic capacitors. It is co-authored with his adviser, Professor Gautam Biswas, and two colleagues from the Prognostics Centre of Excellence, NASA Ames Research Centre.
