Engineering alumni living in the Washington, D.C. area have an opportunity to meet Philippe Fauchet, the future dean of the School of Engineering.
Fauchet will speak June 13, 6:45-8:45 p.m., at The Smithsonian where he will discuss the growing global energy use, how it’s currently generated, and what the economic and environmental impact of the global dependence on fossil fuels over the past 100 years has been. He also looks at the promises and potential of renewable energy.
Fauchet, a Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering in the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Rochester and director of its Energy Research Initiative, will become Dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering July 1.
