From 11 to noon Wednesday, April 7, engineering Dean Philippe Fauchet will match gifts from donors to the school that reach a total of $2,500 during a ‘Power Hour’ challenge on Vanderbilt Giving Day.
“Giving Day is an opportunity to help advance the school’s mission of education, discovery and leadership by making a gift of any size. It also is a chance to celebrate the impact that philanthropy has on the student experience,” Fauchet said. “For example, donor’s gifts support immersive, hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom that are fundamental to developing talented engineers.”
Donors’ gifts also go toward scholarships to attract talented students, grants for student-driven research projects, stipends for graduate student fellowships, and funding to enable student participation in professional organizations through conference attendance and other activities, and to transform the school’s learning spaces. Donors also have the ability to make gifts to engineering student organizations.
Giving Day is an annual 24-hour event that includes challenges throughout the day to amplify impact.
