Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering continues to be the top choice for graduates and professionals seeking advancement based on an all-time high enrollment of 830 in its programs for fall 2022.
Of the 830 students, 652 are in on-campus programs with 530 students enrolled in eight Ph.D. programs, the largest number ever, and 122 enrolled in master’s programs. Another 178 students are enrolled in online master’s programs, which includes the No. 1-ranked master’s in computer science.
Women make up 31.8% of the entire grad/professional/online student cohort in engineering while 33% of the on-campus students are female. Moreover, overall, 9.2% of the graduate and professional students belong to underrepresented minorities and nearly half of the students are international.
E. Duco Jansen, senior associate dean for Graduate Education and Faculty Affairs, said the new high-water mark of 830 is an increase of more than 50% compared to four years ago.
“Despite the disruptions of the pandemic, Vanderbilt continues to stand out as a top destination for engineering scholars and technology professionals looking to advance their careers,” said Jansen. “This is largely thanks to our amazing faculty who continue to attract the best and brightest students from around the world to study under their mentorship and our dedicated staff who are there to support our students in their educational and career goals.”
