The Vanderbilt Center for Sustainability, Energy and Climate (VSEC) has established an Industry Affiliates Program (IAP) to foster dynamic and collaborative relationships with industry partners.
The tiered IAP offers a range of benefits tailored to different stages of company growth and specific needs. The Standard Tier includes updates on ongoing research, access to graduating students through networking events, acknowledgement on the VSEC website, and an opportunity to post job openings on the website.
With the Select Tier, there’s earlier interaction with grad students via networking events, opportunity to present or serve on panels at the annual symposium, and symposium demonstration space. The Premier Tier allows advisory board membership, a daylong company demonstration for educational purposes, interview on a planned VSEC podcast, and an opportunity to put the company logo on formal VSEC presentations by the VSEC director.
“Through collaboration with industry partners, our affiliates program accelerates sustainable solutions that benefit both business and society,” said VSEC director Hussam Mahmoud. “Sustained innovation and scalable impact emerge when sustainability is integrated across all levels of industry collaboration.”
Christopher Rowe, executive director for industry collaborations in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research at Vanderbilt, said he looks forward to the long-term benefits that will come from collaborating with industry affiliates, particularly in the case of students.
“Industry partners provide students with mentorship, insight, and professional connections that last far beyond graduation, and they provide faculty with opportunities to collaborate with industry on their most complex problems,” Rowe said. “This affiliate program will open doors for students and faculty by connecting them directly with industry leaders and innovators.”
