Biography
Joanne Wang joined Vanderbilt School of Engineering Dean’s Office in 2015 and currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Professional and External Education Programs. She oversees the operations of the professional degree programs on campus and online master’s programs. She works closely with industry partners to custom-design and build upskilling workforce developmental programs for practitioner-based learners ranging from hard skills in various engineering and tech fields to strategic skills in personal and organizational leadership. In addition, she leads the school’s efforts to initiate and implement new educational programs in both degree and non-degree programs.
Professor Wang’s expertise lies in management and leadership, strategic business planning and development, marketing and public relations. She holds degrees in mass communication (MS) and higher education administration and supervision (EdS) from Middle Tennessee State University and a doctorate in higher education leadership (EdD) from Tennessee State University. She is a member of the American Society for Engineering Management.
