The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), Middle Tennessee Chapter, announced March 1 that James H. Littlejohn, PE, president of Nashville-based Littlejohn Engineering Associates, has been selected as the 2012 Engineer of the Year at TSPEs recent annual awards banquet. Littlejohn is a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering.
The award is given annually to the engineer who has made outstanding contributions to the profession, public welfare and the community.
Littlejohn Engineering Associates is a consulting engineering firm offering services in civil and environmental engineering; planning; landscape architecture; surveying and health and safety and industrial hygiene. Littlejohn Engineering Associates currently has 100 employees in six office locations in Nashville, Chattanooga, and Tri-Cities, Tennessee; Decatur, Alabama; Phoenix, Arizona; and Orlando, Florida.
Also receiving awards at the annual awards banquet were Brian M. Reynolds, PE, with Parsons Brinckerhoff, for Young Engineer of the Year; Wayne Seger, PE, Director of Structures Division with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, for Engineer in Government. In addition, Mike Fitts, retired Tennessee State Architect, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
