Goldfarb team wins best paper award at ICORR 2009

Mechanical engineering professor Michael Goldfarb and his team at VanderbiltUniversity received the IEEE-Best Paper Award at ICORR 2009 in Kyoto, Japan, at the 11th International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics June 23-26.

After an extensive selection process, the prize for Best Paper Award was given to the authors of “Self-Contained Powered Knee and Ankle Prosthesis: Initial Evaluation on a Transfemoral Amputee.”  In addition to Goldfarb, the other authors are Frank Sup, Huseyin A. Varol, Jason Mithchell and Thomas Withrow.

ICORR 2009 is a joint effort of the two IEEE Societies: Robotics and Automation (RAS) and Engineering, Medicine, and Biology (EMBS). The theme of the conference is “Reaching Users and the Community.”
