The School of Engineering will host a Dean’s Hour for all engineering students and families during Vanderbilt’s Family Weekend, Sept. 18-20.
This annual fall tradition invites families to Nashville for a weekend of catching up with their students, experiencing campus life, visiting with administrators and faculty, and learning more about the services and resources available on campus.
On Friday, Sept. 18, from 3-4 p.m., Dean Philippe Fauchet, other engineering associate deans, and faculty will meet with parents, family members and friends in Adams Atrium in Featheringill Hall.
Jules White, assistant professor of electrical engineering and computer science, will deliver one of four lectures offered in the Faculty Lecture Series. In addition to his traditional campus courses, White is currently helping guide an international MOOC (massive online open course) in which more than 30,000 budding programmers are writing Android apps.
His lecture – What Happens When the Phones and Machines Outnumber Us? How Mobile Computing, the Internet of Things, and Cyber-security Will Impact Our Lives – is Friday at 2-2:50 p.m. in Ballroom C, Student Life Center.
