Computer scientist Nicole Hutchins, PhD’22, has been selected to participate in an annual EECS Rising Stars program. Hutchins was accepted based on her work on technology-enhanced K-12 STEM classrooms for integration of real-world, problem-based curricula.
Rising Stars is an intensive workshop for top women graduate students and postdocs who are interested in pursuing academic careers in electrical engineering and computer science. The program’s Oct. 27-28 workshop at the University of Texas at Austin offers mentoring opportunities and information sessions to help launch and sustain their careers.
Hutchins works in the Open-Ended Learning Environment group led by Gautam Biswas, Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Engineering and professor of computer science. She will join the OELE group as a research scientist Sept. 1.
