What are V2 Ambassadors?
V-squared (V2) Ambassadors are student representatives who sign up to help first-year students acclimate to college life.
V2 ambassadors are one of the many resources engineering students can use! They provide peer-to-peer advice for how to navigate Vanderbilt University. The first opportunity students can meet with a V2 ambassador is during the summer before they begin in fall semester. First-year students will have the opportunity to sign up for Zoom sessions to hear from the ambassadors on array of topics such as engineering majors, transitioning to college, extra-curricular activities, grades, resources, and more! These sessions are known as "V2 Connect."
On Academic Day (the Monday before classes begin), first-year students will meet with a V2 ambassador for discussion groups and lunch. Then first-years have the opportunity to attend different information sessions, the engineering minor fair, and the student organization fair.
During the academic year, V2 ambassadors will host office hours in Featheringill Hall Suite 108 to meet with students for peer-to-peer discussions about college life.
When will you meet with First-Year Students?
Here are the ways you will meet and interact with first year students as a V2 Ambassador:
Summer: First year students may sign up for V2 Connect (summer virtual discussions) for Summer 2024 where you can meet with first-years and V2 Ambassadors in virtual discussion sessions. This is your opportunity to share your wisdom about engineering majors, extra-curricular activities, grades, resources, and more with incoming students.
Academic Day: When students attend academic day, V2 ambassadors will meet with them in groups after their faculty adviser meetings. You will eat lunch with your group in a campus dining hall.
Academic Year: Starting in the fall semester, first-year students can stop by Featheringill Hall suite 108 during your office hours to talk to you. Hours will be determined and posted closer to the start of the semester.
