Research Focus

I am interested novel data visualization methods for extending human capabilities in exploring large and complex datasets. I am especially interested in data visualization approaches that leverage our emerging understanding of autistic visual thinking. Members of my neurodiverse research team have commercialized data visualization systems that have been licensed by NASA for exoplanet discovery -- especially potentially habitable planets -- and that have enabled groundbreaking discoveries about the surfaces of stars and about extreme planets beyond our solar system. My team also builds small satellites in order to flight-test new kinds of detectors for applications such as asteroid mining.
