Engineering fall orientation schedule released


CommonVU, a week-long orientation for first-year students, begins with Move-In Day Saturday, August 21 and ends Sunday, August 29. The week includes special advising sessions, community-building activities and academic classes. During CommonVU, undergraduates will be engaged in activities with other first-year students, peer mentors and Vanderbilt upperclassmen.

The orientation schedule for the School of Engineering is listed below.

Dean’s Meeting with Parents

Monday August 23

Engineering Dean’s Convocation

9:00–10:00 a.m.

Student Life Center, Ballroom

For all first-year and transfer students. Attendance is expected.

Group Meeting with Your Faculty Adviser

10:00–11:00 a.m.

Featheringill Hall

All first-year students should attend. Notice of room assignments will be in your Station B mailbox.

Registration

11:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Registration, as needed.

Picnic

Noon–1:00 p.m.

Picnic with Faculty, V-Squared Mentors, and Student Organization Leaders Featheringill Hall, Adams Atrium

AP Credit Overview

1:00–1:30 p.m. or 1:30–2:00 p.m.
